Does any one have any good tailgating drinks that can be mixed in large quantities?  I'm thinking of storing drinks in 5 or 10 gal drink coolers.  Right now my thoughts are 1 coooler of Margarita and another of Rum Punch for next week in Jacksonville.  Anythoughts.................Van

Bahama mamas, yellow birds, painkillers, etc.  You can keep them in large water coolers, or in gallon water jugs.  Just make sure you have a lot of ice.

Beer is definite.  We will have lots of Land Sharks!!!   Grin  I was thinking Bahama Mamas I know the wife likes them too.   Whats in the Bahama Mamas?  Drank quite a few in the past but never mixed any.  Thanks all for the input!

There are lots of different Bahama mama recipes, but here's a simple one that's really good:

- 1/2 ounce rum
- 1/2 ounce coconut-flavored rum
- 1/2 ounce grenadine syrup
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 ounce pineapple juice

You can also blend with crushed ice if you want a frozen Bahama mama, but they're better served chilled or over ice.

Simple is good.  I was going back and forth between your recipe and one I found for Hurricane by the gallon.  In the end I decided to go with the B M due to less ingredients and ease to convert to large quanties.  Today I will get the alcohol and mix next Friday before the concert.  Thanks for the recipe Modern Dad.

Mixing day tomorrow, drinking day Saturday, then I'll let you know how they turned out sometime next week.  Depending on recovery time. Grin Grin Grin

I can't thanks you enough for the recipe!!!  The Bahama Mamas were a big hit.  I used 3 bottles of 100 proof Captain Morgans spiced rum, 3 bottles of CM coconut rum, 2 bottle of Grendine (reduced the sweetener a little from your recipe) 6 5ths of fresh squeezed FL OJ, and 6 5ths pinaple juice.  With a block of ice it filled a 5 gallon cooler all the way to the top.  Only problem is I think next time I need a 10 gallon cooler of them.  There wasn't hardly a drop left in the end.

My pleasure, Van.  In fact, next time I make a batch, I'm going to try your recipe.  It sounds great!

I have a good margarita recipe :

1 can frozen limeaide & 1 can lemonade
2 cans of water ( or you can use less for a stronger margarita)
2 cans of tequila (basically a fifth)
1 can triple sec
1 can of lite beer.

Ive made this recipe for several people & have never had a complaint..

Oh, this sounds good, I will try this recipe.  Thanks for sharing.

I usually make in a pitcher:
1can frozen lemonade
1 can water
1 can vodka
1 beer

and we called this a strip and go naked drink.  But, now I am looking forward to trying your recipe.

Thanks,
Debe
