The Mango Opera

I totally agree with Snowbird. I have read all of Tom Corcoran's Alex Rutledge books. I love everyone of them!! Please write more!!! I live in the north now, but spent many years in South Florida and Key West was my Favorite getaway, even if only for a day. Every time I need a Key West fix I pull out one of his books. Aside from loving the 'Key West' setting and feel of his books, he tells a great story. Great read.

The Mango Opera

Absolutely love Alex Rutledge series. This book brings to me the realization, Key West is really a state of mind and is the perfect back drop for this book. Tom's books and Jimmy's music lets one go "down island" for a little while no matter where you live. It is just like escaping to the tropical island in your dreams.

Great Book

I bought for a plane trip and finished in three days. I am currently awaiting the last of the rest of the series so I can read them in order. An awesome book.

Alex Rutledge Series

I absolutely LOVE the Alex Rutledge series. Each one makes me want to set sail to Key West. He does a fantastic job of making you feel like you are right there in the moment, enjoying all the sights and sounds, and twists and turns. Plus, Rutledge drives a Shelby GT, what more do you need to know?

The Mango Opera

Tom does a great job of painting visible pictures with words and making you care about and feel like you know the main characters. Great read and a great series.

The Mango Opera

I am glad that I can participate in the MVille Book Club, happier still that I've takin my first steps into Tom Corcoran's world of Alex Rutledge. Not only was it a can't-put-down story, but the use of Key West as the backdrop made it all the more relatable. It was like being back at the end of A1A, again. A well written dose of Florida Mental Floss.

Mango Opera

Tom Corcoran talked me into to moving to Florida from the freezing climate of Chicago without ever even meeting me. He paints such a good picture of Key West and living in the "tropics" in his Rutledge novels that I quit my job of 21 years packed up my family and moved here. No regrets.....I blame it on Corcoran and Buffett. Great books!

the best of key west

I love TomCorcoran and Alex Rutledge. His books are a must. He gives you a true authentic taste of the keys. There is nothing like reading about a place and thinking...hey I've been there. It is easy to get absorbed into the atmosphere of a book when the details are accurate.

the mango opera

If you love Key West and dont live there, Tom Corcoran is a must. When you can't be there you may as well go "fishing with your mind".(read a book). Sorry Jimmy, I stole your line. May I also highly recomend anything by John Leslie (BLUE MOON).

THE MANGO OPERA

I have read all Tom Corcoran's "Alex Rutledge" mysteries, and if you read THE MANGO OPERA you will not want to stop there. I just finished his latest book in the series, HAWK CHANNEL CHASE, and can highly recommend them all.

For True Parrotheads....

If you wish to escape the doldrums of where ever you are and journey through The Conch Republic, then is will be the book for you. Tom Corcoran paints such an accurate portrait of Key West, that you will swear that you will smell the Cuban food cooking in your own home. Fans of Tully Mars and Frank Bama will feel right at home in my opinion with this first book in a series of six.
